This is nicely creepy series Herge. It has that nice ghosty Christmassy feel to it. They used to have ghost stories on the BBC over Chrimbo. M R James was a favourite.
I always liked a good ghost story around Christmas time too. I wonder why there are more ghost stories related to Christmas time than Halloween??? Something to ponder...
creepy is right :) but herge, didn't you say that YOU were playing Zelda? So, is this to be taken then as a personal account of your daily life? Or is it just "the same old goofy shit". Speaking of which, you sound very North American when you say that, can't picture a Brit saying that in fact.
Rowan - I was/ and am playing Zelda at the minute.
I started a couple of weeks ago with Zelda 2 on the NES and then Zelda 3: A Link to the past on the SNES, completed Ocarina of Time on the N64 (for the 3rd time) 3 days ago and am now ploughing through Majoras Mask, also N64.
I will finish up by playing Wind Waker on the Gamecube.
It's fair to say that the Zelda series is my fav - with, controversially Zelda 3 my fav (after Ocarina) - I just love love love the isometric view and bit mapped characters - they're ace.
As for 'goofy shit' I was referencing US comedian George Carlin.
Zelda is the best game EVER!! I couldn't find it for Nintendo GameCube, however. That's what the family (m,d,&o.) are getting for Christmas. That's probably the only thing we are getting for Christmas. Well, that and the turkey dinner! :-D
along with edward gorey, two of my favorite authors are lewis carroll and dr. seuss. they both totally understood the appeal of this kind of sensible nonsense. a lot of the verse in day 2 reminded me of dr. seuss's style.

Day Three will bring
all those wonderful things he missed
with a "ring".
As he has hoped before
it will not be mother with lore...
:-)
This is a really neat series Herge. It seems to suit you. :-)
Thanks MHN,
I'm not sure if it really suits - it's just the same old goofy shit.
Well, I like your same old goofy shit.
Silliness in people is a dying art. I think we should bring it back!
You work on the UKers and I'll work on the yanks. Deal?

Cor Blimey! *how'd I do?*
I haven't played that game in years! I thi;nk the last time was in 1992 that I played the original Zelda!
I agree though, there is something about those 2-bit graphics that you can't get anywhere else. Oh the nostalgia! :)
George Carlin rocks! I was just surprised by your use of the term. Hmmm, you don't cease to amaze Herge.

errrr.....i meant sensical nonsense, not sensible nonsense.
Maybe I'll do a post on Zelda one day...
I was just having a chat with someone about Dr Seuss - I was recalling my love of Cat in the Hat and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Sublime.
