And then what I always hated, the THEME MUSIC WOULD COME ON AND YOU KNEW YOU WOULD HAVE TO WAIT A FREAKING WEEK BEFORE SEEING THE NEXT EPISODE!!! Aaaaarrrrrghhh...

It's freaky, I saw that frame in your sequence and started hearing the materialization sound effect in my head, and then the goddamn theme music as if I knew your strip was near the end.

I guess they finally blew up the world. Resistance is futile!!!!!!

Yeay! The Tardis! The Doctor's come to save us from the ameri.... I mean the daleks. Which incarnation will it be to save us - I'd vote for the third one. Except he wasn't much good at flying the tardis, what with driving that stupid old car around and that.

The materialization sound also registered in my head when i saw that frame - its imprinted! How the hell did you make that frame anyway?

By your command.

(I got nothing else witty to say.)

Well worth the wait, but yet you keep us waiting for more!

Who will be in the Tardis?

What's happened to fearless Field Reporter?

I can't hold out.

TELL ME NOW!

AND... it's no wonder we haven't seen sight nor sound of you for a while. That little lot - all 60 seconds' worth of reading (plus the countless absorption, reflection and enjoyment time) must've taken you AGES.

Brill Herge Thank You

There are some corners of the universe that have bred the most terrible things, things which act against everything that we believe in. They must be fought.

We are not worthy.

Can I vote for Tom Baker to come out of the Tardis? He was my fav. Doctor.

Those were my thoughts Sniff... it must have taken him ages to create that post. He's been locked up in a closet working day and night. It was well worth it Herge. Now...get back in that closet and work faster next time because we can't have any more interruptions like that. Well, we can but we've missed you.

I had a strange dream last night where your real name, Herge, was Tony. In the dream I laughed my head off and teased you about it.

(Sure hope your real name isn't Tony.)

Alex M said...

Fab. You are a comedy machine. Possibly just a floating brain with a wire coming out of it.

Rowan said...

Herge, hmmm, I think he looks like a Mark or a Steve to me.

Congratulations on another fine post! I especially liked the light reflections you did, how did you manage it? Must have taken forever! I actually LOL while sitting here at my desk at work when I saw the building start to come down. Hmmmf! You DO seem to know funny.

M said...

hahahaha, yep Ro, Herge knows funny. :-D

o.k. when i saw the title "DBC NEWS - The Final Bulletin," my heart sank and i thought, "well, that's it, Herge is bringing another one of his brilliant story/strips to an end, better enjoy it while i can." then i read the comments of everyone else and no one else seems to have that concern - they all seem convinced that this post is just leading to something even bigger and better. so my hopes have been bouyed and i am happy again.

Herge, do i have good reason for my renewed optimism or was i right to despair from the start?

Herge Smith said...

Despair, it is the end.

Tony.

C'mon Herge. More power to your plunger.

Well, you know what Daleks are like. Just when you think you've completely erased them from time and space, they pop up again a season or two later and you have to go through the whole process from the start. Tsk.

garfer said...

Is it the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?
I only got a third of it because of my crappy dial up connection.
One month and the joys of broadband will be mine.

pissoff said...

You know Falt... I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to admit it. Herge...you're not leaving us are you?

Rowan said...

I too chose to ignore it guys!
I don't want to think the worst, so I just pretend I'm Scarlet O'Hara these days, and worry about it tomorrow.

Sniffy said...

There's about 9 months' worth of truly outstanding stuff to review and enjoy again. Just work through the archives if you haven't done so already.

Faltanus said...

absolutely right tina - i've been enjoying going back and rereading all of the classic posts.

This post made me laugh out loud and made my day!
