I love my Christmas dinner; it's the best meal of the entire year. Do I feel guilty about stuffing myself stupid when there are people starving? Not really. Me having a miserable Christmas isn't going to help them is it? What's the point in two people going hungry when only one needs to?

I almost bought a pet turkey the other day.

Mash? Are you out of your mind? MASH? It's ROAST potatoes for goodness' sake!

Mmmmmm chipolatas....

I don't feel guilty either - I've worked to put the dinner on my plate and I'm gonna eat it.

I eat until I'm bloated.

When I was a nipper, I could never understand why little starving kids had big tummy's.

It makes you sick, being so greedy.

I find it amusing that at a time that is supposed to mean 'caring/ loving/ thinging of others' half of you think 'FUCK 'EM!'

Lovely.

I as always will feel guilty when I eat and then feel even more guilty as I fall asleep in front of the telly due to over eating and the sedative effect of turk.

Mashed potatoes=American

Roasted potatoes=Brittish

Candied yams=Southern! with brown sugar, orange juice and tiny little marshmallows on top lightly browned. Daddy's favourite. :-)

Dave wants to try roasted duck this year. I'm afraid to try it. I don't like dark fowl meat. He'll have to cook it while the boy and I are in L.A.

dfndyo word verifications!

I sponsor a turkey every year. I can't bear (bare) to eat one that's been murdered for my benefit. Plus, I don't recall ever seeing anything about little baby Jesus ever eating one either. (see, I *do* have a conscience!)

I'm pinching your pic for today, by the way, as I think its fucking excellent and sums up my thoughts at this time of year too. Brilliant!

Yeah, I usually feel bad in the sense of sick to my stomach after eating dinner and then looking forward to doing dishes.

I feel badly for the rest of the world really in the days leading up to Christmas. I dunno, I think I get moved by the spirit or something like that. Seeing nativity scenes for example always bring a tear to my eye. Not sure why. Not sure if it's happiness/sadness or a combo of all feelings.

Anyway, *sigh* it's whipped potatoes for goodness sake with creamed corn and turnips and....*god I'm getting hungry* stuffing without nasty giblets.

TP: ? What's sponsoring a turkey mean?

oh and candied sweet potatoes here, that the same as yams? I think it is...

I think this one is my favourite so far.

Sweet potaoes and yams are very close and most folks think they are the same, so yeah same thing. :-)

Guilty? Nah. I usually participate in some sort of charitable Christmas giving-type thingy every year. Even though those that do more than me (like buy an entire dinner & gifts for a poor family) tell me that the people never say thank you.

Wait a sec... Last Christmas I spent alone in my apartment! There was no decadent turkey dinner! I don't have any guilt at all!

And hell, currently I'm an unemployed bastard... Am I not the one that all you turkey-munchers are supposed to be feeling guilty over? ;)
